Between 1940 and 1944, the complex of buildings belonging to the Polish Tobacco Monopoly was part of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. The first camp prisoners were housed in these buildings, which later served economic purposes: a food warehouse for SS men (Lagerhaus), camp administration offices (SS - Stabsgebäude), camp supervisor quarters, warehouses and an SS laundry.
