As tens of thousands of Americans hit the roads and airways this Thanksgiving week to reunite with family, challenging weather conditions threaten to complicate their journeys across multiple regions.

"There definitely appears to be a significant cold spell late this weekend into early next week from the Great Lakes into the Ohio Valley and East," AccuWeather meteorologist Adam Douty told Newsweek.
