Two San Francisco County jails were locked down over the weekend because of increasing assaults of deputies and other staff by inmates at the facilities, officials said.

San Francisco County Jails 2 and 3 were placed on lockdown Sunday for the weekend due to reports of physical assaults against deputies and jail staff by the inmates.

The lockdown was lifted just after 4 p.m. after the University Police Department and local agencies completed a search, finding no credible threat to the campus community.

Two San Francisco jails remain on lockdown Tuesday after several violent attacks on deputies. However, despite days in lockdown, deputies are reporting new issues.
