A documentary filmmaker from New York is sharing his story of being the victim of a smash-and-grab while visiting San Francisco for his latest project.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Twenty years ago, a documentary came out following Mark Bittner, a musician living on the streets of San Francisco, and his unique relationship with a flock of wild parrots.

The San Francisco Documentary Festival is back for its 24th edition, with this year’s event screening 85 films at two of The City’s theaters.
